“Biden’s Presidential Puzzle: More Potential 2024 Challengers Making the List

As President Joe Biden prepares for what may be a difficult re-election bid in 2024, a growing number of possible challenger’s have been identified as potential opponents. It is a daunting list that could add to the President’s re-election headaches as the year rolls on. Among those rumored to be eyeing a presidential bid include former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former Governor of South Carolina Mark Sanford, both Republicans. They could join a formidable GOP field that could potentially include current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, and even former President Donald Trump, who has hinted that he may try to return to the White House in 2024. On the Democratic side of the aisle, the list of possible challengers to Biden is less clear. While some have mentioned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has stated he will make a decision “at some point” about whether to run. There are also names such as former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, and California Senator Kamala Harris being floated as possible contenders. At this stage in the 2024 presidential race, it is difficult to make any sort of prediction. There are still a lot of potential candidates that are yet to declare and there is still plenty of time for others to join the race. But it is clear that Biden is in for a competitive election and the list of potential challengers is likely to give him plenty of headaches in the year ahead.
