Love Stories from Senator Grassley’s Office: 20 Couples Find Their Happily Ever After!

In a time where dating apps seem to be the go-to way of finding love, one surprising place is emerging as a new hub of potential romance: the office of Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. Over the past several years, Senator Grassley’s team of staff members has developed somewhat of a reputation as a matchmaking agency. After all, the office has produced more than 20 marriages in the last decade, making it one of the best spots in the Capitol for staffers to find their perfect match. How did the office of Senator Grassley become such a powerhouse of love? It all started with an intern. Back in 2011, intern Steven Shafer was chatting with a fellow intern, and sparks quickly flew. Soon enough, the two were a couple, and their success story spread like wildfire. Before long, other staffers in the office started to take note and began asking the office to help find them potential maters. It turns out that Senator Grassley had the perfect policies in place for romance to blossom between staffers. Throughout the years, staff members have had the opportunity to travel together, attend events outside of the office, and even take impromptu lunches – all with the goal of fostering relationships and hopefully, love. And it worked. Former staff members credit the special policies enacted by the Senator for their romantic successes, and many give credit to Senator Grassley himself for making it possible. In addition, it is believed that the small office size has helped played an important role in creating such close connections. With only a handful of employees, it has been relatively easy for staffers to get to know each other – and the outcome has been pretty spectacular. It goes to show that sometimes, the best place to find love isn’t a fancy dinner with strangers or a swiping matching app. Instead, the old-fashioned approach of taking your time to get to know someone is still a tried and true method – and Senator Grassley’s office is a fine example of that.
